I am transcribing a 7th grade Lit. workbook and need some clarification on which rule I need to use for word boxes. I have attached the printpage so you can see what I am referring to. I am interpreting these wordboxes to fall under the list catagory? (Rule 7,2) I have transcribed the first box just as it is in print, with 2 cells between each column. My real question is: How do I handle the next box? The words are not really in columns, or are they? Would I put 2 cells in between or 3? Are they words shown widely spaced apart or a list? I have other boxes like this throughout the book and some have more words which will not fit across the page without running over. Do I treat these as displayed (Rule 14, 1f) and braille them in 1/3 with 3 cells in between? I just doesn't look right to me to have a boxed list with words running across the page and then running over in 3. Would it be a violation of a rule if I placed these words vertically as a list? I know that is alot of questions. I hope it is not too confusing to answer.

I added another print page so you could see more examples of what I am talking about.

There are probably a couple of ways to handle these. Since they are in boxes and apparently appear consistently in the text, I would try to do them the same way, if possible. I see these as simple lists enclosed in a box. A list is defined as items that may be arranged in fewer or more columns than shown in print. (Rule 7.2). Just do each one as a vertical list enclosed in a box as in print. On print page 29 you can probably keep the columns as printed in the first box, although it is not necessary to do that, if another configuration works better in braille. You can list the second instance as a simple vertical list in a box or you can put them 4 items in 2 columns of 2 items each if you like. On print page 34 you can have Key Words as a centered heading within the box and also arrange that list vertically in one or more columns. If Key Words in a cell-5 heading, the list can have only one column. (7.2a(2).

Hope that helps. Let me know.
