I think you have to braille this as printed. It will look awful. Therefore, I would place a TN to explain to the reader. Note that the situation is complicated by the phrase "earth-friendly," also hyphenated but apparently not one of the potentially incorrect word divisions because it does not occur at the end of the line. So, I suggest the following:

1. Use contracted braille EXCEPT for the divided words at the end of the print lines.
2. Start a new braille line right after the hyphen as in print. It will be ugly.
3. The directions explain to the reader about divided words at the end of the line. That's how we know the "earth-friendly" is not to be considered. Place a TN after the directions that explain that a new braille line starts wherever it falls to match the word division at the print lines.
4. Remember to use uncontracted braille ONLY for the divided words at the end of the print lines.

--Joanna

The attached page asks the student to decide if the sentences are divided correctly so it must be brailled showing the same word divisions. How would you braille this? If I use a 40 cell line, the divided words come in cell 9, 10, etc. which really looks strange. Should this be brailled uncontracted matching the lines in print?
