Square brackets within matrix

Good afternoon,

I have never seen a matrix with these extra square brackets before, as in Step 2, line 1, that indicate just the bottom row. How would this be brailled?

Hello Dragica,

Thank you for the question.

I believe the extra brackets are a typeset error in the print copy. I would not braille them. Since, as transcribers, we do not edit print, I would add a transcriber’s note stating that the extra brackets have been omitted.
