Introducing the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

In 2009, a long time Board Member and friend of NBA passed away suddenly. There were many individuals who wished they had been able to thank and honor this individual for everything she had done before she passed. It was through this desire that the concept of the NBA Lifetime Achievement Award was born. Each year, the NBA Board of Directors seeks to find a braille transcriber that is worthy of receiving an award honoring their work. To wrap up a year of online learning we’re going to celebrate the month of December with five different webinars! We’ll have our usual Formats Friday covering part of the Braille Formats code, and our usual Music Mondays that will cover part of the Music Braille Code. Each year during our Professional Development Conference we host a Silent Auction. For one-and-a-half days during the conference, attendees outbid one another on an array of items donated from individuals and organizations. All of the proceeds raised during the Silent Auction directly support our efforts to provide educational services to transcribers and teachers of the visually impaired. We are now just a few weeks from the start of our annual Professional Development Conference! We’ve been busy prepping to greet those of you who are joining us in Phoenix this year, and wanted to provide a few updates.
