The National Braille Association is a member-based organization. Since our founding in 1945, individuals have maintained memberships to the organization giving them access to exclusive benefits, voting rights on board positions, and more. NBA members celebrate a family-like relationship with other professionals in our industry by belonging to one of the few professional associations dedicated to our mission.

NBA Members

Who Is An NBA Member?

Our members are braille transcribers, teachers of the visually impaired, accessible media producers, and others dedicated to the production of high quality braille materials. Some may work as volunteers, some own transcription businesses, and others work in schools. Among our ranks there are individuals who oversee braille transcription programs in prisons, and those who train other transcribers. Regardless of their exact role, all NBA members are dedicated to ensuring that braille readers receive consistent, high quality materials.

The National Braille Association is headquartered in the United States, but we have members in other countries and around the globe.

If you are involved in any capacity with braille transcription, you're one of us! Join today and become part of our community of transcribers.

As a member of the National Braille Association, you'll get access to a range of benefits intended to help you as a transcriber.
