I think you will need to show the pink and blue areas too. They are showing the two inequalities individually and the purple area is showing the solution. I usually use diagonal stripped textures for this kind of diagrams: use one direction (e.g. "///") for one inequality and the other direction (e.g. "\\\") for the second one, and use mesh texture ("xxx") for the intersection.
