bar graph labels

Should the lables on the left side of a horizontal bar graph be aligned to the left or to the right? If they are aligned to the left, should you use guide dots?

The labels on a horizontal bar graph are usually words. These should be left aligned at the margin and you would use guide dots as needed with short labels.
