BF 2011 2.10.1 says “Some books include a brief table of contents, with page numbers, before the full table of contents.” I have a book with a brief table of contents without page numbers. Should I infer from this that I cannot use the brief table of contents in place of the full table of contents in the first volume since there are no page numbers?
I agree with you. This brief listing couldn’t be used by any reader, print or braille, to locate anything in the book. It’s just a list of topics. I would transcribe it at printed only in the first volume only and treat the main contents as usual, transcribing the complete contents in the first volume and only the contents for subsequent volumes in those volumes.
