In the attached example, we have a series of initials after an author’s name. In a situation such as this, would it be appropriate to use the capitals passage indicator before the M. and then terminate it after the C.F.C.S.? Thank You.  Cindy Mahaffey, Visual Aid Volunteers, Garland, TX

There is no hard rule about this situation, but we are in agreement with you in treating the credentials as a passage. Great question!
