I read a post from the past (Computer Assisted Transcription 8/16/08) that the beginning and ending CBC indicators aren't used for company names (i.e., http://www.TalkinBroadway.org, Inc.), but dots 46 are used for the "dot." My question is is this still practiced? If so, is it recommended to follow CBC rules completely and just not use the beginning and ending indicators? Meaning, in the example given above, no contractions and use the shift indicator for the caps?

    Thank you.

The advice I received from the Computer Braille Committee is that Computer Braille Code should be used to transcribe what in effect is an electronic address. You would need the begin and end CBC indicators unless the item is displayed.
