In Lesson 1.11 of AN INTRODUCTION TO BRAILLE MATHEMATICS USING UEB WITH NEMETH, example 1-38 (page 1-18) shows the general omission symbol used in place of a gray rectangle. I thought the shape symbol for a shaded rectangle was what we were supposed to use in this case (based on the rules). If not, I would sure like to know because it would make life easier. 🙂
Laurie, you are right. Example 1-38 will be removed from the updated copy of Lesson 1. The Nemeth lesson files are still undergoing changes, corrections, and updates, so keep watch of the dates in the filenames.
