I’m transcribing a precal/calculus book that’s UEB w/Nemeth, and I’ve run into a symbol I’ve never seen before and am not sure how to transcribe. These grouping symbols denote “the greatest integer function”. It looks like a connected double bracket. I’m attaching a copy of the print page. How should I do this symbol (Nemeth code)?

The pdf file is not opening for me. From your description, it might be the “barred brackets” depicted on page 123 of the Nemeth Code. I have attached that image. If this does not look like your brackets, can you try attaching your document again?
