    Hi,
I have the following in print:

    I.A
    I.B
    I.C
    I.D
    and so on...

This numbering is shown at the beginning of minor headings in the book.

The I is a Roman Numeral.

Would the Roman Numeral need a letter sign before it?

    Would it be ;,i.",a
letter sign cap i decimal point multipurpose cap a

    OR would it be ,i.",a

    Thank you for your help.

The English Letter Indicator would not be used with the Roman numeral I because, in this case, it does not meet the criteria for "single letter". You are correct to insert a multipurpose indicator between the decimal point and the non-numeric symbol (letter)that follows it.
