    I'm perplexed with this statistical statement p .<05, which I'm finding in a research paper.
    Wondering if I should place a decimal after the space after p, but unspaced before a lesser-than sign, then space 05?
    Seems to me that would follow print, but I haven't seen this expression before.

    I think I need to consult someone who knows statistics to find out what the statement is saying. To what does the decimal apply?

    Is this the only time you see that particular statement? My math people suggest that it is a typo and should say p <.05. Is that possible?
