October 2017 Webinars

October is going to be an exciting (and busy) one!

During the last week of the month we’ll all be in Orlando, Florida for our annual Professional Development Conference. But, in those few weeks leading up to the conference, we’re going to be hosting three of our free, fifteen minute webinars! We’ll be continuing with the themed “Music Mondays” and “Formats Friday” webinars, and our third “Braille Bytes” which features a different topic each month.

Please remember that these quick learning opportunities are open to anyone with an internet connection at no cost. Attendance is served on a “first arrived” basis, so there is no registration necessary. To join, simply use the links you’ll find below a few minutes before the webinar is set to begin.

Also, remember that current National Braille Association members can log in to our website and watch the entire archive of webinars! You’ll find the archive under the “Resources” tab in our main menu.

Music Mondays: Where, Oh Where is my Middle C?
Monday, October 2, 2017 at 1:30p EST
Presenter: Kathleen Cantrell

Description: Last month we learned how to form notes in braille music, from A to G, eighth notes to whole notes. But how do we tell the musician exactly WHICH A to play? Join this month’s seminar to learn about the octave indicators we use to identify specific notes without using a staff.
