Today we’re excited to unveil our completely redesigned National Braille Association website!
As we celebrated our 80th anniversary last year, we took the opportunity to do more than refresh our online presence—we rebuilt it from the ground up. Our previous website served us well for nearly a decade, but as the Association has grown, so have the services we provide. Features like our Learning Management System, member-exclusive resources, and new initiatives coming down the road simply weren’t part of the original website when it launched in 2016.
Rather than trying to fit today’s needs into yesterday’s framework, we created a new website designed to support the future of the National Braille Association.
Over the past several months, we’ve worked with the same development team that partnered with us on our Learning Management System to build a faster, more modern, and more flexible website. The result is an improved experience for members and visitors alike, with streamlined navigation, a fresh new design, and a foundation that will allow us to continue adding new features in the years ahead.
Highlights
A Fresh New Design
The first thing you’ll notice is the updated look. Every page has been redesigned with a clean, modern appearance that’s easier to navigate whether you’re browsing from a computer, tablet, or phone.
Accessibiity
This version of our website has even more tools than any previous versions of our website. Visitors to the site now have the ability to apply changes that suite their own needs. Look in the lower left-hand corner of the site for a round icon with a human stick figure. Clicking that will give visitors access to tools that allow them to change items on the site in real time.

SimBraille Preview in the Forum
Members who use SimBraille when posting in the Ask an Expert forum can now preview their braille formatting before publishing a post. This new feature makes it easier to review your work and helps ensure your formatting appears exactly as intended.
Improved Learning Management System Integration
Finding webinars is now more seamless. Instead of opening an intermediate page on our website, webinar links now take you directly to the corresponding course or recording in the Learning Management System, making it quicker to access the educational content you’re looking for.
Built for What’s Next
While we’re excited about everything the new website offers today, we’re equally excited about what it makes possible tomorrow. While you’ll notice many new changes when you visit the site, what you can’t see is the stuff that we’re very excited about. The new platform gives us the flexibility to develop ideas that simply weren’t feasible on our previous website. As the Association continues to grow, our website will be able to grow with it.
We invite you to take a look around, explore the new features, and experience the new nationalbraille.org for yourself. We hope you enjoy the new website as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it, and we look forward to continuing to improve it in the years ahead.
