Today we’re excited to unveil our completely redesigned National Braille Association website! As we celebrated our 80th anniversary last year, we took the opportunity to do more than refresh our online presence—we rebuilt it from the ground up. Our previous website served us well for nearly a decade, but as the Association has grown, so have the services we provide. Features like our Learning Management System, member-exclusive resources, and new initiatives coming down the road simply weren’t part of the original website when it launched in 2016. The National Braille Association is proud to recognize individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving access to braille materials. Many hands in a wide range of roles support the task of getting braille readers to enjoy the same access to reading materials as their sighted peers. Some are transcribers, some are educators, and others still have written braille transcription code books. No matter the capacity in which they work, each one is instrumental to our mission. Each year the National Braille Association seeks qualified, eager individuals to sit on our Board of Directors. NBA Members are allowed to nominate individuals to sit on our board and do so by submitting a nomination form. We previously posted an announcement seeking nominations, but that deadline is quickly looming. Our Nominations Committee wanted to remind all NBA members that if you’re planning to submit a nomination for an individual to sit on the organization’s Board of Directors, you’ll have until the end of this week to do so.
