The National Braille Association is thankful for the countless men and women who have dedicated their lives to ensuring that individuals who are blind receive high quality braille. In 2011, we began to honor these individuals by presenting them with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Each year, one individual is selected to receive the NBA Lifetime Achievement Award. For 2021, the selected recipient will receive the award at our 2021 Professional Development Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The awardee is selected by the NBA Board of Directors, after a careful review of submitted nominations. If you would like to nominate someone for this year’s award, we encourage you […]

June 9, 2021

All those sessions were recorded and we knew that we wanted to do something with those recordings, but weren’t quite sure what. Since doing a virtual conference was new to us, we really wanted to focus on that first. Once the conference ended and we took a moment to catch our breath, we jumped […]

In 40-pages, this publication takes readers through the process of learning more about grade 1 indicators and capital indicators, whether it be a simple or complex application. Grade 1 and Capital Indicators was written to explore possible solutions in many different types of applications. The material in this […]

The birth of this idea came from an acknowledgement that NBA’s traditional way of providing services is not accessible to many of the people who are preparing braille from behind the walls of a correctional institution. Through their participation on NBA’s Prison Braille Committee, experts from the industry discussed and developed the program’s structure. Both the experts and NBA believe that the methods […]
