I've got a question about displayed material. I understand to ignore font attributes if the entire body of displayed material is italicized or otherwise emphasized. (BF 9.2.3b)
While I was reading this a memory of a webinar popped in my head that I remember someone bringing up if a passage was in all bold or italics typeface with the exception of one word in the middle of it that was normal typeface. I get that technically that would counter 9.2.3b above since it's not longer "entire body". I remember it was brought up in a webinar that you could opt to possibly do an indicator for that one word, or go ahead and keep the attribute for the passage, terminate it before that word, and then start it again after it.
I can't remember what webinar it was, and I can't seem to find it again. I feel like the more technically correct would be to mark the passage typeface, but that feels a bit much at the same time. What would be the appropriate approach for this?
Thanks!
