Is it proper to omit the font attributes in a list when a colon is at the end of the font attribute?

The question arises where the italic font is retained in the first paragraph and then a list follows.
Braille formats 5.3.1 states: Print font attributes may be ignored when they are used for decorative purposes and do not add information for the reader. In general, font attributes in tables of contents, headings (centered, cell-5, cell-7),dedications, titles, lists, etc., do not reinforce learning or have any additional value for the reader. When these items are partially emphasized, however, font attributes must be retained.
Would the "For the cookies:" and "For the filling:" constitute "partial emphasis" which would require that bold is retained since a colon sets the words off from the main text?

Thank you so much for your assistance.

    Hello Michelle,

    Thank you for your question.

You are correct in the citing of bf 5.3.1 as a reference for your decision making. Deciding to retain or not to retain font attributes can be a challenge. My most important recommendation is to be consistent. If you decide to keep a typeform font do so for the entire book.

As for this specific example, keeping the font in the first paragraph is a good idea. You can also consider making the bold/italic words a heading to eliminate the need for any font.

I do not think that the font in the listed steps needs to be retained. I think the use of the colon is sufficient to set those words off. However, that does not mean that you cannot keep the bold. It ultimately is the transcriber's choice. Just remember to be consistent.
