If this is for a literary book, then the proper reference would be EBAE Appendix A.9. It states that the termination sign should be listed on the Special Symbols Page. No mention is given about placing a tn in the body of the text. Also keep in mind that if a transcriber's note symbol is used in the volume as well, both symbols need to be listed.
