Good question. EBAE Rule X.34a(2) under general rules of contractions - it says contractions may be used where the letter of the contraction would overlao a minor and/or incidental syllable division. It shows the ea contraction being used in Seattle and Minneapolis. Yes the ea contraction in Leah should be used.
