Register Now For The 2025 Professional Development Conference
Each fall, the National Braille Association produces a three-day professional development conference for braille transcribers, teachers of the visually impaired, and others involved in the preparation of braille. The event attracts people from all over North America for a rigorous series of workshops.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of our founding as an organization. We’re very excited to use this year’s conference to celebrate the milestone. During the three-day conference attendees will be able to attend workshops and panel discussions on a range of topics, attend meal functions to network with other professionals, take a group tour to a local museum, and more!
If you’ve been patiently waiting to register for this October’s conference, your wait is over! Here’s everything you’ll need to know for joining us and how to register as an attendee.
Where
This year the conference will be held at The Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Except for an optional tour on Friday afternoon, all events related to the conference will be located at The Summit. We’ve arranged for special pricing on overnight accommodations at the hotel. Please note that the special pricing is available for a limited number of rooms. For information on booking your overnight accommodations at The Summit, review the “Lodging” tab on the Trip Planner located on this page of our website.

When
The main conference event will begin the morning of Wednesday, October 29, 2025 and continue through Friday, October 31, 2025. There is also an optional event planned for the afternoon of Friday, October 31st.
Pricing
- Early Conference Registration = $250.00
- On Time Conference Registration = $300.00
- Late Conference Registration = $350.00
- Optional Meal Plan = $100.00 (Includes a luncheon on Wednesday, a banquet on Thursday, and a luncheon on Friday.)
- Non-Member Fee = $25.00 (If you’re interested in avoiding this fee, become a member today. For only $25.00 more, you will receive a year’s worth of membership benefits. A summary of what that includes can be found here.)
Registration
Registration for the conference is now open! Since each workshop has a limited number of seats available, we strongly recommend that you register now rather than wait and then find a workshop you want has filled up.

On that summary page you’ll find relevant dates, workshop lists and descriptions with information about each presenter, and more! In the upper right hand corner, you’ll find a mobile menu in the icon with three little lines. That menu will provide links to more information.

In the upper right hand corner you’ll find a “register now” button. When you’re ready to register you can use that button or this link to begin the registration process.
At the end of the registration process you can select a payment method. We can accept credit card payments made right in the registration software or Purchase Orders. If paying by P.O. please register and select that option at the end and include your P.O. number for us to reference when generating an invoice.
