How would the word "to" be handled next to an acronym in the sentence fragments below in Nemeth?

    to UV (ultraviolet).
    6,,uv OR to ,,uv

    to LCD (least common denominator).
6,,lcd OR to ,,lcd (There aren't any contractions but each letter represents a word.)

    Thank you for your help.

I believe that according to Rule VIII Abbreviations, Section, these are considered "special abbreviations confined to a particular field". According to Rule IX, Section 55.c.ii., since the examples you have sited are neither a single letter or correspond to a short-form word, that you would be able to use the contract for "to" unspaced before the abbreviation.
