Section 10.1.5 states that you do not change wording for directions or exercise material. Does this mean simple rewording such as changing sentences at the left to sentences below requires a transcriber’s note now?

I think this section means what it says. It says not to change wording. See also Section 1.1.4–A transcriber does not edit text. The former 1997 Braille Formats did provide for such a change in wording, but that has changed. Section 101.5 is that change.
