Line-mode; note separator line; or extra spaces?

The book I am transcriber switches between past and present within the same chapter. A centered “line” between the two entries indicates that the timeline will be changing. Do I accomplish this same feature using a space between the paragraphs or am I able to use line-mode?

According to BF 1.9.5 we are to follow print for symbols used to show a break in context. If your print uses a line, then line mode would be appropriate. This would need to be defined on your special symbols page.
