    Is the number indicator required for the number 4 in the following situation?

    number of ways to roll 3 or 4
    ------------------------------
    number of possible outcomes

    Option 1:
    ?number ( ways 6roll #3 or #4
    /number ( possi# outcomes#

    Or Option 2:
    ?number ( ways 6roll #3 or 4
    /number ( possi# outcomes#

    In your example, the number 4 is preceded by a space, so a numeric indicator would be required.
