Sometimes I have geometric proofs numbered in exercises like this:

      55. Given: ABCD and CEFD are parallelograms
      Prove: AB ~= FE

Since given/prove statements are supposed to be in 3/1, is the identifier 55 on a line by itself and then a blank line and then the statements in 3/1? Or do I do it in 1/3 with the Prove part of it in 5/3?

Hi Julie. I checked this out in one of our publications (Labeled Statements and Formal Proofs). This is itemized material with no subdivisions so the margins will be 1/3. The identifier begins in cell 1. "Given" is a new paragraph so it starts in cell 5 with runovers in cell 3. A new paragraph is also begun for the auxiliary caption "Prove" (5/3).
