My question is about the first column heading in this example of a spreadsheet in a 10th grade Geometry textbook. If there is an empty column heading in a table I label it with a TN, but I'm not sure what the diamond symbol represents here? Should I go with the print and use the diamond symbol or can you tell me what the diamond represents so I can name that column something, thanks!

My advice would be to use the diamond symbol. Otherwise you are just guessing at what the symbol stands for, since I gather that it is not defined in your text.
