Free Webinar: BrailleBlaster In-Depth

One of the newest braille translation software programs to hit computers is a free program called BrailleBlaster, developed by American Printing House for the Blind (APH). BrailleBlaster was designed to assist transcribers working primarily on textbooks, and provides a platform for automating many basic transcription functions, but provides advanced tools as well.

On Tuesday, August 20, we’re hosting a free BrailleBlaster webinar open to anyone with an internet connection! Join us for a 90-minute in-depth look at the software with presenter William Freeman of APH.

DESCRIPTION

In 90 minutes, you will learn how to create a new file, format multiple types of files, and create math in UEB and Nemeth. We’ll also cover embossing and have time for your questions.

Before the presentation, please download BrailleBlaster at brailleblaster.org and download a file for us to work from this link to Project Gutenberg. The file is an EPUB3 copy of Moby Dick. Please bring your questions! Look forward to working with you!

WHEN

The 90-minute webinar will begin at 3:00p EST on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

There is no need to register beforehand. To join, all you’ll need to do is click the link below. We recommend joining 5-10 minutes early as space in the webinar is limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis.
