Now Accepting Silent Auction Items!

For those of you who are regulars at the National Braille Association Professional Development Conferences, you know that each Spring we have a Silent Auction. Now that we’ve made the changeover to having only a Fall conference, the 2016 Silent Auction will be taking place  in St. Louis.

The Silent Auction provides an opportunity for NBA to host a fundraiser that is always a success for everyone. There is usually one or two items that are hotly contested (remember the braille cups in North Gaithersburg??), and as a result, there is often a buzz amongst the conference about who is winning what. It’s a lot of fun!

Items donated to NBA are put out on display, and throughout the day and a half of the Exhibit Hall during the conference, any and all are invited to place their highest bid on as many items as they wish. Then, the winning bidder takes their item home right from the conference, and the funds raised during the event go toward supporting the mission of NBA.

Even if you’re not going to be joining us in St. Louis, we greatly welcome any and all donations of items that you feel would be a good addition to the fundraiser. We have received items for the event such as Perkins braillers, books, CDs, jewelry, regional gifts from the city the conference takes place in and even food items. If you have an item that you would like to donate, please send it no later than October 1 to:
