October 2023 Webinars

Join us this month for these four free webinars!

These webinars are entirely free to anyone and don’t require registration. As long as you have an internet connection, you can click the join link below each description a few minutes before start time, and you’re in! These are intended to run short, so the content portion is typically around 15 minutes long, and then there’s a few minutes for any questions. We want you to be able to learn some new tricks without having to take a lot of time out of your busy day!

We hope you’ll be able to join us live, but if you can’t, remember that we record all our webinars. Those recordings are housed in the archive, and are available to current NBA members. If you want to watch later, just sign in with your member account, navigate to the skills area you’re looking for, and hit play! If you’re not a member and want access to training videos, checkout this page for more info about membership.

Transcriber And Educator Services

Breaking Boundaries: Braille on Demand

Presenter: Fae Montoya, Member, Transcriber And Educator Services Committee
Date: Monday, October 30th at 2:00p ET

Description: In the last decade, educators have become more adaptable in their teaching styles, finding and creating worksheets and lesson plans for their class as the year goes on. For a blind student who has their textbooks made months in advance, this often interrupts their access to the classroom. Join this webinar to see how students in Arizona are being given “Braille on Demand”, and how this service allows a student to have their education made just as adaptable (and accessible) as their peers.
