Recognizing that it is costly and sometimes difficult for transcribers and teachers of the visually impaired to travel for training, the National Braille Association began to offer web based learning opportunities in 2016.
Shorter, Free Webinars
A few times each month we offer shorter length webinars that are free and open to the general public. We publish the schedule of upcoming webinars on our blog, as well as information on how to join each session. These free webinars typically last approximately fifteen minutes with additional time for questions and answers.
An archive of the recorded sessions is available to current National Braille Association members. To access it, sign in to your member account, and navigate to the Member’s Section. Here you’ll find a link to the list of available recordings and streamable embedded video of each webinar.
Longer, Paid Webinars
Following feedback on the initial offerings, we began to offer extended length webinars that allow presenters to delve deeper into topics that are important to transcribers. These longer webinars vary in duration and cost. Announcements and registration are announced in blog posts.
For the upcoming Using UEB in Technical Materials webinar beginning in April, see this post on our blog.
Replays of our shorter, free webinars are available in the online archive of videos to current National Braille Association members. Replays of the extended length webinars are also available to purchase to rent.
Current National Braille Association members receive discounts on purchases and rentals of these longer titles. For a coupon code, please sign in with your member account and navigate to the Member’s Section of our website.
