I would follow print - and it looks like the book title is in print so I would put it in braille as well (yes, as centered).

The volume identifiers specifically state that a blank line does not follow them. Examples in formats show centered headings immediately follow the volume identifier. I believe you can interpret the same logic to a cell 5 heading - so no blank line between a volume identifier and  cell 5 heading.

As info - I would probably put the months in this contents in cell 1 and the information under them in cell 3 with runovers in cell 5 - it saves some space and still conveys the same message.

You are correct - though I am disappointed to see this!  I am working from an older document. I am going to research this more and if I find any more information I will let you know.

Thanks for point it out to me!

I'm told the link isn't working for everyone...although it works for me 🙂

Go to the BANA website and search for a document called Provisional Guidance on Transcribing
    Mathematics in UEB.

There's a BANA document about transcribing math books in UEB (it's not my suggestion to do this!).  The document can be found here:

Your gut is correct. In formation, directions are telling the student to do something with the material that follows. These should be blocked in cell 5. The paragraph "directions" are something like "Look around your classroom and find five things that start with the letter D". This statement is then followed by a heading or something completely new and unrelated.

As a sidenote...is you are doing a math book (which this looks like) even if it is in UEB, BANA recommends following the Nemeth format rules...so the first example (with the dollar signs) is a directive sentence and the 2nd example is direction which would be in 5-3.

You should used the underscore symbol (dots 46, 36). It's a blank.

The acronym LLC must be preceded by a grade 1 indicator so it is not misread.

There is no rule but my suggestion would be to braille it all as one number (no spaces, no hyphens).

According to BF 2.10.7a, continuation letters are not used in the Table of Contents.

The note's runover position is still cell 3 even if there isn't any text there. There is no need for a blank line.

You are correct that BF doesn't address multi-step numbered directions. You will have to choose what works best and then be consistent. You suggestion would work.

Your choice to do them as combined pages is good. I like the cell 5 headings for the "entry word". I might suggest using a cell 7 heading for Example (and removing the bold). That then leaves the examples set apart a bit which makes it easier to tell what is example and what is definition. I, personally, would draw the arrows rather than using the TN, but there is no rule against what you did.

There are no rules for this, bit I would suggest putting the dates as cell five headings and following print for the paragraphs. If you feel it necessary, you could do a TN to state that, in print, the dates are at the right margin.
