ParticipantWow - what a challenge! Obviously, there are no specific rules that address this.
I can offer you two suggestions. Know that they are SUGGESTIONS and you don't have to use either option 🙂
I started with the philosophy that you didn't want to have to repeat the Remarks a lot.
Let me know what you think!

Participant- Section 6.2.2 (which talks about sources and illustrations) doesn't say anything about blank lines. As such, I went to Appendix C which says that blank lines follow source information - and it doesn't specify which type of source. So my answer, based on Appendix C, is yes, a blank line is required following the source.
- The caption is good on this picture...but I would still include a TN that you are not including the information from the handbill. If there is any doubt that the information would be required for the reader, box it and attach the caption to the box. In this specific case, that might require the full cell outer box lines and individual boxes for the two types of information in print.

ParticipantThe only thing specifically addressed in BF regarding blank lines is lists. However, it IS recommended (and the BANA formats committee is trying to make it part of an errata or update) that if something ends on line 24 or 25 that requires a blank line following it (like the box line you mentioned) that blank line is at the top of the next page.
Regarding lists: 8.3.4a says: Start the list on line 1 when a running head is not used, if there are two or more blank lines at the bottom of the previous page. Start the list on line 2 when braille is on the last or next-to-last line of the previous page.

ParticipantWith double spacing you double the blank lines...so where there would be no blank lines, there is one. Where there would be one blank line, there is two.

ParticipantB. is lettered directions. That's addressed in 10.3.3.
Ejemplo is an example. That's addressed in 10.8.1
The underlined portion is displayed text. See Section 9 and 10.7.1.
If this doesn't answer your question, let me know!

ParticipantIt would be helpful to see a picture of a few entries from the material in question. Without seeing it, your formatting seems good. If the displayed material is math (rather than just text) and you are working in UEB with Nemeth, no blank line is required before and after it.
Alphabetic divisions don't require blank lines, but a cell 5 heading requires a blank line before it so there would need to be a blank line between an alphabetic division and a cell 5 heading.

ParticipantI would say in this specific situation that the print page numbers are not necessary...but if you did include them it wouldn't really change the fact that exercise sets should be on the same braille page. If I've misread your question, please let me know!

ParticipantThere is no rule about this...but many of the transcribers I know DO insert the punctuation. Any change to print requires a TN on the TN page so something like: In print, exercise numbers are enclosed in circles. In braille, the circles are ignored and the numbers are followed by a period.

ParticipantThe guidelines say that an abbreviation should be inside the switches with the math (numbers) to which the abbreviation applies. So yes, it would be inside the switches.

ParticipantI am making an assumption with my answer that this is early grade braille...if that is not the case, let me know.
According to 6.1.3 of the Early Learning Materials BANA document, one blank line is inserted before and after a page change indicator when doing double-spaced braille.

ParticipantAppendix G has the list of what IS required on the Special Symbols page - everything else is not required 🙂 A transcriber should consider the reader though - as, for instance, the asterisk is not listed as one of the required symbols but might not be familiar to the reader. It's not REQUIRED but it might be helpful for a reader. Please note that if you are taking a certification test, what is not required should not be listed.

ParticipantMove the line to the next page. It is better to not split the line of poetry between pages.

ParticipantI apologize for the delay in answering this - I've been out of town and didn't see it to ask someone else to answer it 🙁
TN indicators are used whenever text is included in braille that does not appear in print...which is why the volume headings (Volume 1 and Following Volumes) are enclosed in TN indicators. I don't know what "all other proceeding volume headings" means. Volume identifiers are only used in the first volume...all volume identifiers would be enclosed in TN indicators. Does this answer your question?

ParticipantI'm sorry for the delay in answering. I did not see this.
I am not sure what you mean by "where the shape indicator is not used". Early learning materials says to draw the boxes. Check the Early Learning guidelines found on the BANA website.

ParticipantIn braille, it is not a good idea to have ONLY centered text. Centered text implies a heading...which is then followed by something. The material in the box should be changed to a list or paragraphs or something that begins at the margin. Centered material by itself could be hard to locate on the page and hard to follow as it goes from line to line.
